Hi, I’m Sydney Christian, M.ED.,LPC

I incorporate intersectionality, inclusion, and equity to foster a therapeutic and healing environment for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), Neurodivergent, Queer, and Trans (LGBTQIA+) people. I utilize an integrative approach that is neurodiversity affirming, culturally aware, and systemic. I lean on therapeutic modalities Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Somatic Interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Interventions, and the Phase Model - an integrative approach that includes interventions of Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Structural Dissociation Theory.

Throughout these approaches, every aspect of your being - from culture and identity to politics- is welcomed in the therapy space. I am a strong believer that therapy is effective when it is not rushed, retraumatizing, and creates space where you are in the driver’s seat. We will work together to see which approach will be best for you individually.

Committment Statement

Our deepest commitment is to marginalized communities. Communities that have been historically underserved, misrepresented, or actively harmed by mental health systems: Black and Brown individuals, LGBTQIA+ people, Neurodivergent people, Disabled people, and those whose lived experiences have been invalidated.

For many people in these communities, barriers to care extend beyond structural and economic ones. Barriers that present through generational trauma within systems that were never intended to support or protect them. We believe in acknowledging overlapping identities, the flaws of oversimplification, and interconnected injustices. We are committed to anti-oppressive and decolonial care.
